Default Does anyone know any one that does Olympic Weightlifting in West Virginia?

Hello All,
I'm new to Olympic lifting and this site. It's great. I love it.

I'm posting this thread because I'd love to find some people in my area to train with on snatches and clean and jerks. Right now, I'm you tubing my techical sets and getting my coach, Randy Hauer, and others on Crossfit to critique me with the hope of some eventual evolution.

A few days ago, I got a chance to train with Avon Cobourne. He's a graudate of WVU who was a four year starter and played a few years for the Detroit Lions. He's now in the CFL and playing tailback again. But I got a chance to train some movements with him and it was really fun. He had experiecne with cleans and clean form, but no real understanding of the other movements. Just having him there with me watching me clean meant the world as he should me a few things that the video can't catch etc.

I just thought I'd throw this out there with the hope that someone may know someone or someone may post here.

All the best,
Arden

Thanks so much, that's not too far from where I live (about an hour and half).

I'll shoot an email.

All the best,

I got in touch with Scott Tusic. We know each other from our old powerlifting days. I didn't realize it at first, but he's "Hillbilly." I never knew his real name. He's gotten into olympic lifting since he turned 50 (two years ago). Guy's a really strong dude. I can remember him squatting and deadlifting close to 7 in the 198/220s years ago. Could bench really well too. I think his best total was near 1800 and that was before the equipment revolution.

He's invited me up, but he has to wait until he sorts some things out. He even considered bringing a couple of his athletes to my place to train.

I'm really excited. I really need to train with other weighlifting enthusiats. I think it will help me advance.

All the best,
Arden
