I'm not sure if I understand right, but the fat block is assumed to be split half between the protein source and the external fat source i.e, each protein block is assumed to have 1.5 grams of fat... so the outside addition of fat from say oil or nuts would be 1.5 grams.
You could already be at something like 1.5-2.5x fat if you're adding at 3 grams.
I'm not too sure about burning protein. There should already be plenty of carbs and fat in the meal plan... unless you're getting to the 10% and below range, which it sounds like you're at.
