Default Need more fat

I have been zoneing for quite a while and while I may be slightly more active than a regular 3 on 1 off CFer, I am not much. Recently (today) a video clip was posted on CF mainpage of Robb talking about block calculation. I was right with him that the activity levels of a CFer are not above a 7.5 and so the protein requirements are not at 1g/#LBM at all. However I could not help but notice that in the back ground the fat blocks were listed at the minimum 1.5g /block. I am at 175 and 10%BF. I have never gotten quite as low as 1.5g/block fat low but I have been close and I was unable to drop much below 20 blocks a day to maintain weight. Since I have uped my fat to 5x I can drop some carbs and can maintain weight and gain muscle at 15-16 blocks and begin gaining at 18 mind you I also added IF. I can't imagine however doing a perfect 1.5g fat block at 16 blocks and not burning protein.

Any testimonies to the contrary?

I'm not sure if I understand right, but the fat block is assumed to be split half between the protein source and the external fat source i.e, each protein block is assumed to have 1.5 grams of fat... so the outside addition of fat from say oil or nuts would be 1.5 grams.

You could already be at something like 1.5-2.5x fat if you're adding at 3 grams.

I'm not too sure about burning protein. There should already be plenty of carbs and fat in the meal plan... unless you're getting to the 10% and below range, which it sounds like you're at.

I think the standard approach is to use straight zone to lose weight. Then once the desired BF% is reached up the fat to avoid losing any more weight.

Yeah I think I was over reacting I realise that as a weight loss plan the zone is very different then a performance diet. And I have read The Zone but I never picked up on the split fat block between the protein source. It makes sence as the math works out at 3gm/block for 40/30/30 when I was on a strict zone I just always counted all the fat and did 3 grams anyway. Still even at like 12% BF it just wast enough calories without a little extra fat. But thats just me. Thanx guys.
