Default Thoughts on Some Illness Prevention Methods

I posted these fasting links on another thread, but I thought I'd create a new thread.

I also just watched/read Dr. Mercola's article on flu shots. He states that we can prevent flu by having more Vitamin D. He recommends really high amounts for people who already have the flu. Thoughts?

It's interesting research. Considering my day job is indoors, I may be upping my intake of CLO based on the newer info coming out.

Methinks it would be much more advisable to have a consistently moderate intake of D on a regular basis than to megadose if one gets the flu. Then again, someone who gets the flu probably has very low levels of D (if this info is correct), so they may get a lot of benefit. Their take-home lesson would then be to keep their D levels proper the rest of the time--especially when winter season is approaching!

Does CLO oxidize like fish oil? I'm currently taking krill oil, but I'd be willing to switch over.

I don't know. That being said, CLO has a much longer positive track record than krill oil, so oxidation to the levels that affect health negatively should have been noticed by now I would think.

Sounds good, but I have so much fish oil and krill oil stocked up that it'd probably be a waste for me to switch over to CLO. But winter is soon approaching, so I might need to the Vitamin D.

I'm wondering how much krill oil I should be taking. Dr. Mercola recommends two a day, which isn't much (http://mercola.fileburst.com/PDF/pro...ill%20Oil.pdf). I try to eat two for each meal I eat, which ends up adding to 4 capsules a day. I also eat a lot of fish, which probably isn't the smartest thing to do. I eat fish probably ~4 times/week, but I don't take the krill oil if I eat fish.

Very good info. I used to catch everything I heard was going around. Now I know I was just letting things take over my system. Anything I can do to prevent this is very helpful to me.
