Default Counting fiber as carbs

Just wondering what those of you who keep are trying to keep carbs low for the purpose of fat loss feel about fiber. Obviously, fiber=awesome, but do you count the carbs? Does source count? Nuts vs greens vs fruit vs flax vs whatever?

Fiber doesn't count in overall carb consumption so things like flax count as 0 carbs, that part just goes through you and helps to keep everything nice and clean.

Fiber actually helps negate some carb absorption...

Some people (forgot who.. maybe it was lyle?) say to subtract the fiber from the carbs.

Steven is correct, fiber helps to slow the digestion and helps like fat to make you feel fuller longer. If something says it is 12g of carbs, with 4g of fiber, the net carb intake is 8g. That is why on things like the Zone diet you have to eat enormous amounts of green vegetables to come even close to a 3 or 4 block meal.
