Default Snatch question

So where exactly does the bar make contact with the body? I'm talking which bones? I tend to hit the bar somewhere around the pubic bone area, which I'm sure is incorrect, and I got a major bruise today..

Also, how do you guys deal with repeated bruises in the same area? I'm sure it can't be good for the bone/tissue in the long run.

Get it just above the pubic bone. If you have bruises that badly, you're getting a little too crazy smashing your hips into the bar, likely with the bar not remaining close enough to you as you enter that final explosion phase. If the bar remains in immediate proximity to your body, no amount of explosiveness at the hip will cause that much damage.

That makes sense, I didn't consider that the bar might be too far from me and I'm basically smashing my hips into it. Thanks for the feedback.
