Keith - Your local hardware/lumber store. Don't buy a platform. Get 4 1/2" or 3/4" sheets of plywood (4x8'), one 4x8' sheet of 3/4" MDF (these actually come in 49 x 97", so you'll need to trim an inch off each dimension). Then get a 4x8 sheet of 3/4" rubber horse stall matting from a ranch supply store. Lay down 2 sheets of plywood to create an 8x8' square, then lay the next two on top perpendicular to the first layer. Screw all together. Cut the rubber mat in half length-wise (i.e. create two 2'x8' strips) and screw them into the plywood on either side - I suggest only screwing in the corners. Then stick the MDF in the middle and screw it down. Should be able to get this done for no more than $150 or so.
