Hey Greg I have a question for ya. I am doing the strength by numbers program and am wondering if it say 70% powerclean do I work up to a heavy single and then do the 70% of that 3x3. Everything else I understand by working off your 5rm etc but I want to know if I am doing it right when there is only a % for the lift. Thanks

Hey Greg,

I'm going to undertaking the 6 week strength cycle but had a question in regards to sprints along with it. After listening to the podcast, I know that they plans are designed as is for specific reasons, and the strength cycle is obviously intended to make one stronger, but if I kept in short sprint, such as 30-50m, and only about 4-8 pre workout, would that fuck things up? I used to be a sprinter and don't know why exactly, but if I lift without some running, my hips tighten up and my squats suffer, even with stretching. Also need to keep some running juice in the legs, cause unfortunately after I do plan on extending runs up to 5k's, not by choice, but because I'm hoping to be entering into the CHP academy, and the main protocol is running. Just wanted to squeeze in a strength cycle while I still had time, before I had to get a little more serious about more running, high rep push ups, sits, etc. Thanks. Sorry for the long question. And sorry if it's a retarded question.

Jonathan - If it just says 70% x 3 x 3, you're doing 70% of your 1RM power clean for 3 triples. If you're supposed to work up to an RM that day, it will say that before any back off sets,e.g. 1RM, 90% x 1 x 2.

Ryan - You should be fine. Just keep an eye on how you're recovering and make adjustments if needed. Also be wary of your hamstrings and don't tear one off.

Thanks Greg. Will eye recovery and go a little lighter then max on sprints to save the hams.
