For clean pulls and snatch pulls, if I am a newer lifter with a clean 1RM of 225lbs and snatch 1RM of 185lbs and am not sure whether the number are low due to technique or strength, should we up the weight for the pulls? For example, 65% of my clean would be about 146lbs, but that is very light relative to my pulling strength. What do you recommend? Upping the weights on the last sets as I've seen mentioned before?
You can up the weights within reason. Aim to make good movements and no misses.
