Rest Day

Most likely you're quite near death at this point. That's normal. We won't think any less of you if you scale the training down--Don't be a hero!

More like a zero that had a great lifting session first thing wednesday and is now absolutely spent. Goodnight!

Hahaha near death. I think I'm sort of ok actually, since having the cold showers right after. But might drop the weight for the snatches because form is a bit ugly (position -> movement -> speed -> load) :)

I've been out of commission all week with my back pain, but hopefully I can do some light work and CFit type stuff next week.

Doug, is it back pain from doing the WODs?
DougM 2007-11-08
I was doing front squats 85% of max when I felt as if someone was compressing my spine from top to bottom. It hurt just to hold the weight in the racked position. The pain comes from the spine, between the shoulder blades. I can bend over and even do pullups, but any twisting or loading of the back led to pain. I am feeling about 90% after about 4-5 days of no workouts at all. I have two guesses as to what happened: 1) I either used bad pulling form on my C&J's (rounding back, etc) or 2) I don't have bumpers, so i had to lower some pretty heavy weights from overhead to the ground. I may have overstressed it that way. Either way, I am going to go back to basics on form and start light.

Is there a pill or something I can take so I can gain the requisite flexibility to do the olifts? I want to follow this program so bad. I guess I gotta give it time.

Brief joint mobility first thing this morning. Foam rolling and a few movement chains plus more stretching and mobility later in the afternoon. I actually feel great and ready to go....
