Can I go out on a limb and guess that the coach who said "stamp collectors" was coach Rip? I keep planks a fairly regular part of my routine. I usually do them during warmup, 30-45 second holds, front and side to side. I keep my torso very straight from ears to ankles like the girl in the front of that picture.
