What's your thoughts on Push Press behind the neck versus from the front, i.e. should one always go from the front unless there's a reason to go behind the neck (wrists, flexibility, etc.)?

Sam -behind the neck has its place - largely as upper back strength work - or, as you said, a sub for normal PP if there are wrist issues. i use it extremely rarely.
