Coming Back from a Miss

Picture this…

Your training session is going great. You are smoking your lifts.

Then… you miss.

When you go for the next lift, I bet you’re focused on the ONE bad lift you’ve done that day… and trying to NOT do the things that led to it.

Instead, you need to be thinking about the GOOD lifts—all the other ones from that session—and what you DID to make them good… and then focus on doing that.

Not only does this keep you focused on something you can actually DO rather than trying to NOT do something, it keeps you aware that the good reps far outnumber the bad and bolsters your confidence.

Weightlifters are absolute masters of self-sabotage.

How you choose to view what you’re doing, have done and are going to do has a dramatic impact on what actually happens.

Take control of that perspective and build positive habits that support progress rather than self-flagellation, neurosis and helplessness.
