Quit Missing Jerks You've Made!

This is the dumbest way to lose control of an otherwise good jerk, and either drop it, or get called for a pressout.

When you recover from the split, stay active overhead and bring the bar with you!

Keep your upper back locked in tightly, and never quit pushing up aggressively into the bar.

When you step back, push the bar back slightly so it stays directly above you.

If you don’t, you’re moving your body back out from under the weight and destabilizing it.

That’s when the bar starts trying to escape and you have to go into damage control mode.

The lift isn’t over until you’ve stabilized the bar and your body, and you choose to drop it.

Until that point, act like you’re holding a loaded bar overhead…

Don’t be lazy and drop jerks as you’re recovering… that’s a great way to practice making this mistake.

And remember… don’t celebrate a make until it’s actually a make.
